Antique White Ironstone Wash Basin 15" CERES Shape Wheat Elsmore & Forster England

Product Description: This early, white ironstone wash basin in the CERES shape is large and solid measuring just over 15 inches in diameter and weighing just over 6 pounds. By Elsmore & Forster, it features a vertical ribbed exterior and interior with an embossed wheat pattern encircling the inner edge and a rope motif around the lip. Your wash pitcher with a 6 1/2" diameter base will fit comfortably in this bowl. It bears a faint, English Diamond Registry mark on the base dating this piece mid to late 1800s.

Condition:  Previously owned - used.  Condition is consistent with age and use. Very good condition. No cracks or repairs. Rim is free of chips. Light wear on unglazed base rim. All over crazing is present although not discolored. A few light scratches on inside base most likely from movement of wash pitcher. Please refer to photographs as they are part of the description.
