Antique Glass General Store Candy Jar by George Close Co. Cambridge MA

Regular price $115.00

Product Description:  This glass jar in barrel form was once a candy jar from the George Close Co. in Cambridge, Massachusetts during the earlier 1900s but did not survive the depression era. It’s a larger jar measuring 10 inches tall, possibly once used in a general store or other business. The embossed pattern encircling the glass jar depicts a barrel design and has a bail handle with a wooden grip which is latched to a wire hugging the upper neck of the jar. The metal lid is still functional with most of the original label still intact on the front of the jar. The label bears the George Close Co. name and Legion Mixture on the front. An interesting and rare jar with a piece of history.
