Product Description:  This fantastic early, wood box was acquired at an auction in Berks County, Pennsylvania.  It is features a primitive look and is constructed of wood and nails.  It offers a black advertising stamp on the back and non-legible black stamp on one side.  Although the stamping on the back is partially worn, it appears to read Stichter Hdwe. Co. Reading, PA.  The Stichter Hardware Co. was formed in the early 1900’s. Intriguing history how this building originated, the changes and fires it went through, one being one of Readings’ greatest fires, now stands a home to a professional office building.  A wonderful piece of history with character, which could be used for countless display ideas.

Condition: Previously owned - used.  Fair condition.  Dry natural patina.  Black surface coloration on most of surface.  A piece of wood on the lip of one end was broken off years ago and is not a fresh break.  Pin size holes all over one side of box.  5" split in back side.  Does not appear to be effecting the piece.
