Antique Enterprise Mfg. Cast Iron Sad Iron w/ Worn Red Paint - No Handle c. 1867-1871
Product Description: Many years ago, woman used sad irons or flat irons to iron clothing. In earlier years, they were heated over an open fire or stove.
If you collect sad irons, this Enterprise Mfg. collectible features two pointed sides with worn, red paint. With raised lettering on the top it reads; Enterprise Mfg. Co. Philadelphia, PA., three patent dates; Pat May 24 70 , Oct. 1. 67, and April 4 71 and is a No. 55 Size 3. Although this sad iron is sadly missing it's removable handle, it is a fantastic Americana collectible which could also be used as a door stop!
