Description: A handsome antique redware apple butter - preserve crock with earthy character and early handcrafted charm. Standing 5 inches tall, this primitive vessel features a slightly bulbous form showcasing an an internal and external glaze with an unglazed redware base that speaks to its originality, warmth and history. The rich reddish-brown color tone and honest wear gives this crock the inviting presence we look for in early Pennsylvania redware.

Condition: Used. Condition commensurate with age and use. Some glaze flakes, nicks, crazing and chips are present. Chips and glaze skips to edge of unglazed footed base. Glaze wear and/or flakes to rim. Glaze wear to interior bottom possibly from scraping and normal utilitarian use. Being sold as a collectible, no longer for food use.
