Antique Kitchen Scale with Original Brass Plaque by American Cutlery Co. Chicago, IL

Product Description:  American Cutlery Company, Chicago, Illinois established around 1878, was known for their high quality cutlery.  During the early 1900’s, the line expanded into kitchen scales, then became American Family Scale.  This fantastic kitchen counter scale by "American Cutlery Co." from the early 1900's is constructed of steel with a clean, white ceramic top and retains much of its black original paint on the body.  Showcasing its brass face and rustic appearance, this round, glassless face is constructed of metal with the numbers and words incised in a brass plate. What makes this one special is the brass advertising "American Cutlery" plaque on the front, which is still intact.  Nice Americana style scales like this one are now becoming a challenge to come by.  Give this nice early scale with history, a home in your kitchen.

Functions and performs as it should.  Platform is sturdy and top platform in good condition.  Calibration knob functions properly.  Front plaque is readable.  Any labels on sides are worn.  Some surface wear and scratches.  This style scale does “not” come with a glass front.  Refer to photographs for additional information.
