In 1837, Herman Boker emigrated to New York from Germany and founded H. Boker & Co. The tree logo was inspired by a giant chestnut that stood near the Boeker Tool Factory in the 17th century. The "Boker" name is one of the oldest in American Cutlery.

Markings: The knives are marked; "Boker Tree Brand" - Stainless along with the tree logo. The forks are only marked "stainless". Stamped on the clear plastic cover is Est. 1837 Boker Tree Brand Cutlery - Quality Over a Century. Inside Corner of of box lid - Sept. 28, 1937 - Douglas Young, Inc. PAWT. R.I. - Patent No 106, 245, which is the information about the original box company.

Condition: Previously owned - used. No chips or cracks. Scratches are noticeable on some of the stainless steel from normal use. Due to age, handles have minor yellowing. The original box and plastic cover are both in fair-poor condition. Corners of box are peeling and torn in areas. The top plastic cover is collapsing.
