Product Description:  Add this early, glazed stoneware canning jar by The Weir Pottery Company, Monmouth, Illinois to your collection. In original condition, this self-sealing canning jar stands 8 inches tall with a metal bail clasp closure and a ¼” step-out shoulder. Embossed on the lid is; "The Weir Patented March 1, 1892" and still retains part of its original seal.

Condition:  Previously owned – used. Condition is consistent with age. Decent condition with minimal crazing, if any. Some chips around bottom edge and base (as shown). No repairs. Lid has not been removed due to possibly damaging the remnants of the original, cracked, dry seal. Metal closure exhibits heavy patina although still works and functional.
