Product Description: A fantastic antique Columbia Family Scale - patented 1906.  This terrific collectible can weigh up to 24 pounds.  It features a black metal body and  base, a round white face with black numeric and alpha print.  It is highlighted with a bronze/gold color rim around the face.  What makes this scale unique is the double sided advertising print - Talbot, Brooks & Ayer, Portland, ME.  Harry D. Brooks founded the firm in 1904-1906.  The perfect amount of natural surface patina makes this an eye-catching collectible that displays very well. (books in photo not included).

Dimensions: 8 1/2" Height, 5 3/4" (face width) x 5 1/2" (footed base width), 9" (footed base depth), 5 1/2" (square top surface)

Condition:  Previously owned - used.  Appropriate age condition.  Moderate, spotty surface oxidation.  Portion of black surface is worn/scraped on bottom, front area.

Markings:  Talbot, Brooks & Ayer on two sides, Columbia, 24 pounds, by ounces, Family Scale, numeric numbers. On bottom stamped in gold, Pat Sept 17, 06.
