Antique Woven Splint Buttocks Egg Gathering Basket Twisted Twig Handle
Description: Decorate in style with this attractive early Hand-Woven Buttocks Basket likely from the early 20th century. Crafted from wood splints, this basket features a woven God’s eye wrapping on two sides, a twisted twig handle that runs through body, a wrapped rim and a two-lobe bottom, a traditional design for gathering eggs. With some damage to the top of one God's eye wrapping, the basket remains visually strong and bears a strong, natural patinated surface that would display beautifully on top of a foot stool or mantel.

Condition: Previously owned - used. Condition is commensurate with age and use. Retains original patinated surface. Break, separation and missing pieces on top sides of one God’s eye wrapping. Small right side broken piece has detached although can be inserted for display use (as shown). Piece will be shipped separate. Light wear, a few breaks in strips at bottom and base of handle (as shown), although does not take away from beauty of this collectible piece.
