Tramp Art Carved Pyramid Box with Sliding Top and Porcelain Knob
Description: Possibly during the Great Depression, this heavily detailed, notch-carved box was crafted with wood and small nails. In rectangular form it is layered into a pyramid form body with four sides and footed base. With just a few areas of chips, it features a sliding top pyramid form lid with a porcelain knob and top slotted screw. The bottom is pencil signed by the previous owner G. Fenstermacher, Hamburg, PA. The maker/crafter for this piece is not determined.

Condition: Previously owned - used. Condition is consistent with age and normal use. Good to fair condition with 2 found notches with chips. Scratches and some wear on interior and exterior. “Exposed” tack nails on the inside base protruding slightly up from underneath either from the making or missing a lining of some sort. "Caution": cannot be seen easily, although they are there. Porcelain knob has a ¼” chip on side (as shown).
