Description: An 1856 Pennsylvania German Fraktur Taufshein Birth and Baptism certificate from Pottsville, Schuylkill County, Pennsylvania. Printed in German, this certificate includes hand-written names and origin in English, hand-colored with water color or other colorant and framed behind glass in a wooden frame with gold tin type front covering. A beautiful piece of early folk art from the Northeastern Pennsylvania Coal Region.
