Well-known during the Victorian era, specifically for their “Royal Vitreous” creation, this set of six in the “Oakland” pattern is a typical example of late 19th-century aesthetic movement influence, when transferware moved away from landscapes and towards botanical designs.

Condition: Previously owned - used. Condition is commensurate with age and use. Gold trim on rim is worn - no longer noticeable. Light wear to bases. One butter pat appears to have a clump of gold paint (over the glaze) on underside of one end. This area is rough. Uncertain of its presence - appears to be from the making.
