Description:  The 6-lever padlocks were first patented by Daniel K. Miller in 1870.  This Champion push key padlock from the later 1800’s with wonderful cast design graphics comes with the original chain and one key attached.  Although when in locking position, the shackle does not close flush into the body and is off a bit to one side, it does lock and unlock with push key and appears to work properly.  With just a bit of help, this early Champion padlock could be a keeper!

Color:  Brass with age darkened surface patina.

Condition:    Condition is consistent with age and use.  Push key into locking mechanism does work.  Locks and unlocks although the “shackle does not close flush into the body” (as shown).  Chain has heavy surface patina. Back has normal nicks and surface scratches.
