Antique General Store Counter Top Cast Iron String Holder

Product Description:  Cast iron string holders were used years ago on counter tops in old country and general stores.  This 19th century collectible features a two piece open diamond design on the top and elongated openings around the diameter of the holder.   The top base is designed with two metal tabs that fit into the lip of the bottom base.  The metal wire swing arm pulls over and snaps on the top, keeping the two pieces in place.  The marking on the bottom is A1007.  A fantastic collectible whether you collect cast iron or country store memorabilia.

Condition:  Previously owned - used.  Age appropriate condition.  Moderate to heavy patina.  The inside and exterior base has spotted rust and pitted surface.  Handle is secure and is an extremely tight fit once snapped in. Care needs to be taken when pulling handle down.
