Antique Masons Patent Ironstone Hydra Jug "Japan Basket" Serpent Handle, c 1815-1825

Product Description:  One of Masons lovely octagonal, hydra jugs printed and hand-painted using the vibrant Imari color palette in the popular “Japan" Basket pattern.  It measures 6 1/4" tall and features a serpent design handle highlighted with light lustre on the handle and rim.  The earlier incised back stamp is shown on bottom.

Condition:  Previously owned – used.  No chips or cracks.  Wear is consistent with age.   A few glazing blemish spots with discoloration on the bottom, inside (as shown).  Normal wear on base. Wear on luster rim.
