Antique Nippon Candy Dish Octagonal Gold Beaded Edge Orange Floral c. 1891-1911

Description:  Dating back to the early 1900’s, this octagonal Nippon candy dish by Morimura Gumi is elegant with a splash of color and texture.  Hand painted with peachy orange floral, most-likely poppies, and green foliage.  It is highlighted with raised, gold beaded trim and an ornate gold, geometric style background around the lovely octagonal edge.

Condition:   Previously owned - used. Good condition.  No cracks or chips. Most of colors are still colorful with light wear in areas from normal wear.  Corners of scalloped points show some loss of gold with rubbing.  Areas of color loss around thin gold band on base.  Backstamp exhibits wear with loss of “Nippon” underneath maple leaf (as shown).
