Description:  A charming pair of 19th-century transferware polychrome plates in the treasured “Feather” pattern by Wood & Challinor, Staffordshire, England. Each 9 inch plate showcases a graceful spray of pink transfer-printed peacock feathers accented with hand-colored blue and yellow flower heads, creating a soft, romantic palette typical of early Victorian tableware.

Condition: Used. Condition is commensurate with age and use. Considered good. All over crazing is present on both plates. One small 1/8” chip on rim of one plate (as shown). Triangular form stilt marks are visible on the back from the drying process of pottery. On the front, three single indentations are present in triangular form on plate. At first, it gives appearance of nicks into the plate although it is believed this was also due to part of the stacking and drying process - in this case front and back in similar locations.
