Antique "Sterling Silver" Victorian Era Thimble Waite-Thresher Early Star Mark~ 1885 -1906
Product Description: This isn't your standard sewing thimble. From the Victorian era, this sterling silver thimble by Waite,Thresher Co. of Providence, Rhode Island is exquisite. This ornate thimble features a smooth band above two rows of beautiful, incised, ornamental scroll-work. The inside-top is marked STERLING, hallmarked with a star and the number 8 below. The first, earliest mark was a star (as shown). Later a thimble was added to the inside of the star. The surface of this precious collectible offers a layer of patina which has been left untouched. An excellent choice as a gift for that sewing enthusiastic.
