Description: An amazing White Ironstone Sauce Tureen Compote by T & R Boote, Burslem, England from the mid-1800s.  It stands graceful with a scalloped pedestal base and rim and a paneled fluted body that gently flares at the top. The double handles are adorned with an embossed leaf motif on both sides, enhancing the charm and beauty. Although the lid and ladle are missing, it remains perfect for use as a candy dish or decorative accent.

Condition:  Previously owned - used. Approximately 170 years old and in very good condition. No cracks or repairs. Minimal crazing, if any. Cannot detect any. Glaze is in very good condition with some small pin-point glaze spots beneath scalloped rim, body and pedestal base. Rim is surprisingly smooth. Light wear on bottom of base from normal use. Missing lid and ladle. Please refer to photographs as they are part of the description.
