Antique Wooden Hanging Wall Box with Leather Hinged Lid
Description: Wall boxes similar to this one were once used on kitchen walls near the cooking station to store salt or other kitchen needs. This wall box is rather large measuring just over 12 inches tall with a 7 inch long slanted lid. It offers a generous size tombstone backboard with a pierced hole for hanging. What makes this one special is the interesting leather hinged, lift-up lid.

Condition: Previously owned - used. Condition is consistent with age. Normal scrapes and moderate wear. There appears to be a newer white paste or paint over 3 older nails on the base and a spot on front. There is also splattered areas on the inside. Cannot determine exactly what or why it was applied. Appears to be strong box. Overall good condition.
