Tramp Art Hand Crafted-Carved Wooden Wall Box Comb Holder - Depression Era
Description: This one-of-a-kind, hand chipped and carved wall box was constructed from recycled cigar boxes and layered strips of wood put together using round tack nails. Most likely from the 1920's - 1930's, this unique piece of folk art features carved notches, three applied ornate wood carvings, floral paper cut-out, and two rings possibly crafted as towel rings. Although there is some damage to the ring carvings and a portion of the floral paper has peeled off due to years of use, this is a fantastic piece of history of what used to be. At one time, this decorative art creation may have been used as a comb box. Today, it could have endless uses in any room.
