Antique Flow Black Transferware Plate 8 3/4" Washington Vase PW & Co England
Description: A Flow Black Transferware Plate in the “Washington Vase” pattern by Podmore, Walker & Co., Staffordshire, England. Crafted from Pearl Stone ware measuring 8 3/4 inches wide, it showcases a black transfer printing with just a hint of grayish-purple color tone which can be seen more in the sunlight. A romantic landscape is featured on the central design with exotic foliage and a large classical urn - vase in the forefront with five cartouches, scrolls and floral around the edge. While this decorative plate bears its own character through natural aging with crazing and areas of discoloration, it captures the artistry and craftsmanship of 19th-century pottery.
