Antique J & P Coats Cardboard Display Case Boilfast Six Strand Floss Advertisement

Description: Own a piece of sewing history with this authentic J & P Coats cardboard display case, likely dating back to the early 1900s when thread cabinets were a staple in general stores. Originally designed to hold six-strand floss, this display case with J & P Coats advertisement on four sides is constructed of cardboard with a protective plastic window cover which once showcased the Six Strand Boilfast Colors. Also included is one whimsical advertising trade card for J & P Coats Spool Cotton. The survival of both case and lid together is noteworthy given cardboard’s fragility over a century. Despite showing authentic age and wear, this collectible remains a treasured find for sewing enthusiasts and collectors seeking genuine period memorabilia.

Condition:  Previously owned – used.  Condition is consistent with age and normal use. Due to age and use, discoloration and staining on cardboard. The two front corners have detached from sides. Although plastic covering is not torn, the window frame has detached from lid (as shown).
