Large 19" Stately Japanese Champlevé Vase Enamel over Brass
Product Description: In decorative arts, knowledge of the popularity of the Champlevé technique dates back prior to the 15th century. This exquisite earlier 20th century Japanese Champlevé vase is a large and heavy one standing 19 inches tall and weighing 18 pounds. Beautiful intricate and colorful enamel motifs over brass with a faint, geometric background design. The elaborate, zoomorphic double handles add a gorgeous, stately appearance to this elegant piece.
