Antique Victorian Red Velvet Photo Album w/ Drawer and Stand Late 1800s - Early 1900s

Product Description:  This is not your typical photo album.  From the late 1800's - early 1900's in the southeastern part of Pennsylvania, this elegant two-tone red velvet photo album sits gracefully on the original stand, features a matching pull-out drawer and a patinated, brass-tone clasp that pushes up to latch and unlatch.  Displayed in the center of the cover is a decorative 2 ½” x 1 7/8” mirror surrounded by of a brass embellishment depicting the Liberty Bell and two brass accents in the top corners.  It folds out forward and displayed inside are a combination of 11 Cabinet Cards and 3 Cart-de-Visite, mostly portraits of children, men and women.  In addition there are 53 blank, cabinet size compartments and 9 blank Cart-de-Visite size compartments.  Marked on the inside cover with two patent dates are; November 26, 1895 and November 10, 1896 and March 1, 1898.  A lovely Victorian bedroom accent or gift.

Condition:  Previously owned - used.  Condition is consistent with age and use.  Normal antique wear and rubbing on exterior and interior of album (as shown). Binding is still strong with rubbing and wear on edges.  Stand is in functional condition with missing pull ring on drawer and light wear and rubbing on velvet covering.  Some cards and cut outs have normal wear, some tears, and picture fading.  No cracks in mirror. Most of original tissue paper is missing.  One brass applique was found in drawer which was most likely once on front cover.  Could be re-attached.  Due to age, the blank photo compartments will not be able to be used to insert any new photographs without resulting in tearing the paper pages.  All pages of photographs are not shown.
