Antique English Mulberry Transferware Ironstone Dinner Plate Set of 2 EON Pattern Wooliscroft
Product Description: Expertly crafted by George Wooliscroft of Staffordshire, England during the mid-1850s, this set of two 9 ¾” dinner plates in the in the “Eon” pattern showcases a mulberry transfer central scene of an intricate windmill countryside landscape. Bordering the 12-sided plate are cartouches of an alternating rustic windmill and a scene of figures with farm animals. On the backside, it bears an early printed English Registry mark with the makers name.

Condition: Previously owned - used. Condition is commensurate with age & use. No cracks. One ¼ chip to backside edge of one plate (as shown). All-over crazing is present on front and back. Glaze pops, imperfections in the form of a 2” white line within pattern, one on each plate which appears to be from the making, as it is glazed over. One is on scene, other on cartouche. Stilt marks in the form of a triangle on back of both plates from the making of the pottery. Light wear to back and rim. Over 170 years old. Please refer to photographs.
