Description: A handsome early 2-quart redware storage jar showcasing a glazed dark brown interior and exterior with authentic period aging. Traces of time can be seen through early chips, nicks an scratches on the body and lid, with dark patina on the base that speaks to long service in an early American kitchen. A true piece of primitive redware with genuine 19th century presence.

Condition: Used. Condition commensurate with age and use. Early chips, nicks, scratches to body and lid. Water tested - free of cracks or exterior moisture. Glaze wear and crazing. Lid is a slightly darker shade than body. Although not uncommon since lid is dipped separately, it cannot be guaranteed original to jar. No longer recommended for food use. Being sold as a decorative collectible.
