Description: A handsome antique redware apple butter or preserve crock with handcrafted character and early American charm. Standing just over 5 inches tall, this earthenware vessel features both dark pumpkin internal an external glaze with an unglazed base, details that reflect its utilitarian origins and authentic age. The rich dark pumpkin color tone and honest utilitarian wear gives this crock the inviting presence we look for in Americana redware.

Condition: Used. Condition is commensurate with age and use. Considered good antique condition. Displays attractive color. Authentic period aging and normal utilitarian use. Water tested, no exterior moisture or leads. All over crazing, glaze wear around rim, chip to rim, light glaze wear to interior bottom. Overall, a sound and attractive example of early American redware.
