Antique Stick Spatter Ware Plate 8 1/2" Petrus Regout & Co. Maastricht Holland

Antique Stick Spatter Ware Plate 8 1/2" Petrus Regout & Co. Maastricht Holland

Regular price $75.00

Description:  Accent your home with this whimsical, decorative plate by Petrus Regout & Co. – Maastricht. Inspired by the Boerenbont pattern from the early 19th century - a traditional folk art design originally created and used by Dutch farm wives, this 8 1/2” plate is a fine example of this type of artistic work. Made in Holland, likely at the Petrus Regout earthenware factory, it features a gentle scalloped edge with a featured red, green and yellow fanciful floral using simple brush strokes. Clusters of blue floral and a red & green geometric pattern edge were meticulously decorated using an early stick spatter technique, outlined by coordinating color bands. Whether displayed on a wall, shelf or as an accent piece, this plate will add color and a piece of Dutch Folk Art history to your living space. It bears the original black printed Petrus Regout & Co. Maastrich mark on the back.
