Antique Stoneware Preserve Storage Jar 2 Quart Metal Bail Handle Wooden Grip
Description: Experience a touch of nostalgia with this old-school 2 Quart Stoneware Preserve Jar. Once used as a utilitarian crockery to store or preserve food or liquid, now serves as unique, decorative element in your home. With an earthy-tone, metal bail handle and a black wooden grip, it stands just under 6 1/2 inches tall and 5 ¾ inches wide at the base. The sunken lid rests on the inner lip with a fingertip, circular handle. Display flower arrangements, kitchen utensils or simply as it is for that rustic charm.

Condition: Used. Wear is consistent with age & use. Considered good, free of cracks. Metal bail handle with light patina moves freely. All-over crazing is present and visible on body of jar. Some minor staining areas on interior. BOTTOM: In one area, glaze run-over to bottom edge (as shown). LID: 1/4" inch chip on underside, Rubbing, small glaze chips and imperfections from the making. Although lid was acquired with jar, it "cannot be guaranteed" it is original to jar. Slight color difference. Due to the way these antique crockery jars were crafted for preserving food, most lids with the button knobs are difficult to pick up and remove from jar. The button knob on this particular lid is even more difficult as one side collapsed in the making. Please “proceed with care” as we cannot offer a refund if lid becomes damaged when removing or picking up. Normal wear and imperfections from the making of the pottery.
