 Product Description:  This charming vintage stoneware pitcher is a sturdy piece of pottery that stands 7 inches tall and can hold up to 2 quarts of liquid. Featuring a blue Dutch boy and girl kissing scene with a windmill backdrop, displayed on two sides, this pitcher captures nostalgic charm of folk-inspired décor.

Makers’ Marks: “53”incised on bottom

Condition: Used. Consistent with age and use. No cracks and the pitcher remains functional, holding liquid. Discolored crazing is present on base and interior bottom. Small chips are present on inner edge of rim and under spout. Evidence of prior kitchen use is present - the pitcher may have been used as a utensil holder. Base has either an earlier glaze chip or missing glaze in the making causing premature aging and discoloration of unglazed area (as shown). Small glaze chip on inside wall. Blue paint marks on inner wall from the making, possibly finger prints. On one side, the Dutch girls head and arm exhibit incomplete blue coloration. It appears to be in the making, as it seems as though it is glazed over, although not certain. Despite these imperfections and wear, the pitcher displays nicely and remains both decorative and functional.
