Large Antique Blue & White Spongeware Stoneware Mixing Bowl
Description: This large 19th century, blue & white salt glazed stoneware bowl brings authentic country charm to your home. It’s a large, hefty bowl weighing just over 5 pounds with a tapered body. Don’t let its 5 ½” height fool you. It’s a generous one-gallon size bowl with a 12 inch diameter top that is slightly out-of-round, which reflects the charm of genuine vintage craftsmanship. The sponge pattern on the exterior in blue on grayish-white color combination with a glazed finish will add warmth to your home.

Condition: Used. Condition is commensurate with age & use. Inner rim exhibits some wear discoloration. Two vertical hairline cracks which wrap around rim from exterior to interior. One is 4”vertical on interior extending 2”on exterior. Second is 4” vertical on interior and 3”on exterior (as shown). When water tested for 15 minutes, there did not appear to be any leaks or exterior moisture Since stoneware is strong, there is no signs of weakness in those areas. Recommended for decorative purposes only. Please refer to photographs.
