Antique Primitive Iron Hogscraper Push-Up Candle Holder

Antique Primitive Iron Hog Scraper Push-Up Candle Holder

Regular price $95.50

Product Description: An amazing 19th Century Push-Up Candle Holder with Original Old Patina. In a hogscraper shape, it stands 6 ½ inches tall crafted from iron with an attached circular base with raised donut. The shaft in tubular form is designed with a vertical slot on the side and a round thumb lever which pushes the candle up or down depending on the use and size as the candle is burning. You will notice a hook extension which is part of the bobeche (top collar). Back then, this extension was used to hang over a back of a chair or where lighting was needed. Surprisingly over 150 years old, this candle holder is in working order with original surface and mechanisms. A special Victorian era candle holder for your Country Primitive style decorating.
