Antique Gaudy Welsh Side Plates Saucers 10 piece Staffordshire England

Regular price $180.00

Description: A colorful collection of ten Gaudy Welsh small side dishes in the “Oyster" pattern made and decorated in Staffordshire, England. This style of affordable china ware was hand-painted by women and children during the 19th century for the working-class families, making each one slightly unique in its one way. This ten-piece collection in two different sizes showcasing vibrant cobalt-blue, russet, gold luster accents, with pink lustre rims on creamy white is now collectible for its vibrant appearance and historical significance. As with most early Gaudy Welsh pottery, each piece exhibits characteristics of imperfections and wear, although still vibrant and visibly appealing, their vivid colors and historic charm make them prized collectibles to any display.
