Description: During the 19th century, The Jones Pottery in Pittston, Pennsylvania was operated by Evan R. Jones and Evan B. Jones. This 11 ¼” tall Evan Jones stoneware whiskey jug showcases a classic strap handle, gentle rounded shoulders and a warm, presence that reflects the rustic primitive character of early Pennsylvania stoneware.

Condition: Used. Condition is commensurate with age & use. Strong strap handle, staining – discoloration within glazed body. One 1/8” small chip on outer edge of lip. Patina and wear on bottom base. Incised name is not clear. Pittston, PA is clear, only "N" (for Evan) is visible, Middle initial is not clear and Jones is a challenge to read. Refer to photograph. No longer for food or water consumption.
