Description: This exceptional antique transferware 8” plate by William Adams & Sons from the beginning of the mid-19th century, showcases the craftsmanship of early Staffordshire pottery.  This 8” smaller salad plate size with a scalloped rim features a captivating two-color design on creamy white. A detailed green floral and scrolling pattern is featured on outer edge and a equestrian scene in the center with two figures riding horses accompanied by a running dog surrounded by a tree, mountains and an architecture element in the background. Bearing the impressed Adams mark on the back with the red printed “Andalusia” pattern name, this piece is a treasured addition for collectors of authentic English pottery who appreciate fine craftsmanship and historical artistry.

Condition: Previously owned – used. Condition is commensurate with age and use. Over 180 years old - considered very good condition. Rim is smooth free of chips or cracks. All over crazing is present on front and back. Colors are still vibrant. A few scratches (2-3) on red scene along with some glaze pops. The ½” scratch can be scene moreso when turned towards the light (as shown with a light source pointed on it directly).
