Antique English Red Transferware Plate 10 3/8" Millenium
Description: This 19th century Red Transferware Plate crafted in Staffordshire England beautifully illustrates the biblical imagery depicting the prophecy of a Peaceable Kingdom, the thousand years of peace under the reign of Christ. Captions of “Peace on Earth” and “Give us this day our daily bread” are referenced on the center of the plate. Measuring 10 3/8” wide with a gentle scalloped edge, this early piece of pottery likely from the 1830s is valued among collectors for its historical significance. It bears a distinctive red printed backstamp of the pattern Millenium-an early 18th-19th century misspelling - and an impressed starburst mark.

Condition: Previously owned - used. Over 180 years old. No cracks. Images and glaze on front are in good condition with minimal wear. Extensive glaze rubbing and/or chipping, color wear on rim (as shown). If being hung on wall for decoration, this damage is not easily seen. Age wear with pitting on back. Stilt marks in triangular form on back from the drying process when crafting the pottery.
