Antique Pumpkin Glazed Cylinder Crockery Jar D.H. Henkel & Co. 2.5 Quarts
Product Description: This crockery jar in cylinder form with straight sides is a fine example of an early utilitarian jar from the late 19th to early 20th century. With rich pumpkin glaze, this 2.5 quart jar stands 7 ¾ inches tall and bears a worn impressed mark on front shoulder which appears to be attributed to D.H. Henkel & Co.

- Wheel-thrown straight cylindrical shape

- Tooled two incised bands encircling underneath lip
- Horizontal throwing lines more visible on interior
- Impressed mark in caps in a semi-circular or oval stamp with dotted line border

Stamps/Marks: Impressed mark on front shoulder is not 100% legible. Since it appears the suffix of the name is ENKEL & CO and based on style of mark and further research, the mark is likely D.H. Henkel & Co.
Condition: Used. Condition is commensurate with age & use. Glossy exterior and interior glaze with crazing, a few light scratches and mineral inclusions. Water tested - no leaks. Glaze skips and chips are present around the bottom edge, early nick on top rim with a few additional nicks and small glaze scrapes. Impressed mark is not totally legible, filled-in glaze, lightly struck – impressed area.
