Antique Purple Transferware Handleless Cups & Saucers Set of 4
Description: Imagine this English 19th century Purple Transferware Handleless Cups & Saucers displayed in your kitchen. Likely from Royal Staffordshire, England region, this set of four with one extra cup showcases two rural English scenes. Centered on the saucer depicts a a girl and her donkey with mountains and a castle in the background. Centered on the inner cups is a scene of an English boy walking with a basket. Two cartouches on the inner edge of the cups and three on the saucers Although each piece does show its age which are discussed under "Condition", they are a charming set in a color that is a challenge to acquire.

Condition: Used. Condition is consistent with age and use. Extensive discoloration & staining from age. Each cup exhibits scratches, nicks and/or a hairline crack. 2 cups ¼” early chip on out edge of rim. With scratches and/or glaze damage on interior (as shown). 1/4" vertical hairline on another. All cups are discolored around rim with additional areas of crazing, roughness and some small nicks (as shown). Saucers – some scratches and discoloration. One saucer has a discolored spider crack on the bottom which does not appear to go through to the front. Please refer to photographs.
