Vintage McCoy 6 1/2" Brown Drip Glazed Pottery Planter Jardinere (NMSSC) Shield 15 Mark

 

Description:  Produced in the late 1920’s, this early glazed McCoy Pottery-Jardinere crafted with natural brown and tan tones stands 6 ½” tall.  The upper edge features a lovely, brown drip glaze with the bottom half a solid cocoa brown.  It bears the incised shield 15 mark, dating this to approximately 1928-1933 period.

Condition:   Previously owned - used.  Condition is consistent with age and normal use.  No holes in base.  ¼” chip on body (as shown).  Bottom base bears wear along with small glaze chips and pitting.  Interior has a ¼ glaze chip.  Rim is relatively smooth.  Towards bottom there is a 2 ½” area of spotty discoloration in the glaze (as shown).
